Wildfire Ahead does not authorize, dispatch or control any flight. Aviation authority rests with the operating agency and the applicable regulator.

Request access

Ask for access to the drone subsystem

Access is granted through your Wildfire Ahead account. Requests go to the platform, and an administrator assigns the exact workspace, roles and scope after review.

What access is. A view of a synthetic development environment, at a role an administrator assigns.

What it is not. It is not an aviation approval, it confers no authority to operate an aircraft, and it is not enrolment in a pilot programme. Nothing you can be granted here changes what you are permitted to fly.

What happens when you continue

  1. You reach the Wildfire Ahead platform and are asked for an account. If you do not have one, choose Register — it is the same screen, and an account by itself opens nothing.
  2. You fill in the request: which workspace, and a sentence or two about the work. The drone subsystem sits under Aviation Evidence, which the link below preselects.
  3. An administrator assigns the scope — exact roles, purposes and jurisdiction cells. A person reads every request, and you are told either way.

Opens workbench.wildfireahead.org. There is no automatic approval.

What to include in the request

A request with these in it can be actioned immediately. Without them it usually comes back with questions.

  • Your organization and the region or jurisdiction you work in — a province, state, county or utility service area.
  • The role you need. Viewer, planner, operator or supervisor. What each role may do — and note that none of them authorizes a flight.
  • What you intend to do. Concrete beats formal: "evaluate whether this fits our existing fleet" is more useful than "evaluation purposes".
  • Whether you hold aviation authorization to operate drones. Either answer is fine and neither affects whether access is granted — it tells us which conversation to have.

If you build or operate aircraft

The most useful conversation available to us right now is with someone whose fleet we have not built an adapter for. A second adapter is what turns vendor neutrality from a design property into a demonstrated one. Say so in the request and it will reach the right person. The interface detail is here.
